Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of cutle.org (“Cutle,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the website, game, SVG Path Normalizer, custom-shape links, advertising, and contact form.

Information stored on your device

Cutle stores the following information in your browser’s local storage:

  • Your best cut ratios, attempt counts, trophy progress, and the time your progress was last updated.
  • Whether you have seen the help dialog and which changelog version you have seen.
  • Your selected display theme.

This information stays in your browser and is not sent to the Cutle puzzle API. You can remove it by using Cutle’s reset controls or by clearing site data in your browser.

Puzzle and custom-shape requests

Cutle requests daily and monthly puzzle data from api.cutle.org. These requests include the requested date or month. As with ordinary web requests, our hosting and API infrastructure may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information, request time, and requested URL for delivery, security, and troubleshooting.

Your cut line, score, attempt history, and locally stored progress are not included in these puzzle requests.

Custom SVG paths supplied through the d URL parameter are processed in your browser. Because the custom path is part of the URL, it may appear in browser history, copied links, referrer information, server logs, or analytics request metadata. Do not place personal, confidential, or sensitive information in a custom-shape URL.

Contact form

If you contact us, we collect the information you choose to submit, including your name, email address, optional website, selected subject, and message. The form sends this information to api.cutle.org so we can review and respond to your request.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information that is not needed to handle your request.

Analytics, cookies, and similar technologies

We use analytics services to understand traffic, diagnose problems, and improve Cutle:

  • Google Analytics may collect page and referral information, device and browser details, general location information, and interaction measurements. It may use cookies or similar identifiers.
  • Google AdSense may use first-party and third-party cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and device or browser identifiers to select, deliver, limit, personalize, and measure advertising; detect fraud and abuse; and report advertising performance. Google and its advertising partners may use information about visits to Cutle and other websites when personalized advertising is permitted by your settings and applicable consent choices.
  • Microsoft Clarity may collect page, device, diagnostic, and interaction information such as clicks, scrolling, and session playback data. It may use cookies and pseudonymous identifiers.
  • Umami collects privacy-focused, aggregate usage information such as page views, referrers, browsers, device types, and country-level location. Its standard tracking script does not use cookies or collect personally identifiable information.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies:

You can limit cookies, advertising personalization, and analytics scripts through your browser settings, privacy extensions, Google My Ad Center, or provider opt-out tools. Opting out of personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all ads; you may still receive contextual or non-personalized ads. Blocking these services should not prevent the core game from working, although advertising and some site measurements may be unavailable.

How we use information

We use information described in this policy to:

  • Provide daily and monthly puzzles and operate the website.
  • Remember your local progress and preferences.
  • Respond to questions, privacy requests, and copyright notices.
  • Measure site usage, improve features, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot failures.
  • Display and measure advertising that helps support the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the website, its users, and the operator.

Sharing and sale of information

We do not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by advertising, analytics, hosting, API, and communication service providers that help us operate Cutle. Advertising providers may independently collect and process information under their own policies. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and service integrity.

Data retention

Local game data remains in your browser until you reset it or clear site storage. Contact submissions, technical logs, and analytics information are retained only as reasonably needed for support, security, operations, legal compliance, and the applicable provider settings.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can submit a Privacy Request through our contact form. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

Children’s privacy

Cutle does not require an account and does not knowingly ask children to provide personal information through the game. Children should not submit the contact form without permission from a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please send us a Privacy Request.

International processing

Our infrastructure and service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Those locations may have different data-protection laws.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Cutle’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The updated date shown on this page identifies the latest version.
